About This Game StarsOne program was launched in 2118 with its goal of exploration the nearest stars. Convenient planet was found and process of terraforming was conducting through 7 years. The best volunteers made their way to the cultivated planet in 2125 to plant a colony and establish connection with Earth center. The first spaceship with pilgrims arrived and they settled successfully. But soon the communication was lost – something strange happened. The character headed off to the planet for searching the survivors. Near the planet orbit he lost communication with Earth center, outfit went wrong and spaceship was starting falling down. The spaceship crew, including the character, had to evacuate. Due to breakdown escape pods were operated manually. In this regard crew members landed in different regions of the planet. This is a decent sandbox game, and I expect it to only get better. The tech progression makes sense and there are survival reasons to do things. Graphics are decent without being overbearing. Everything appears to function fairly smoothly.The one down note is that it is lonely while playing it. Supposedly, it was intended to have multiplayer functionality, but that was removed last year. I haven't noticed any news about multi coming back, so...if you want to play with friends, you are better off with one of the others, like Empyrion.That said, I still rate this game worth checking out, for the price.. Okay so I noticed this game is in Beta which should mean the developer is about done with the game. I hate to say it but I do not see a difference. To start with most all the game is just the assests that come with the game engine. There is no extra. Then you get hit with well you need steel plate but how do you get steel plate? Well not going to find out in the game. That is fine though if I cared enough I would go looking for the info. Then you try to figure out all your can craft and well the menus are absolutely just whatever the game engine allows. Hard to find anything quickly without going through all the lists. Finally I just gave up. The whole game seems to have been made by someone that put as little effort into the game as possible or they are a student that is not willing to push themselves. In the end the game is nothing I can not create myself with a free copy of the game engine. Really this is more of a hobby for someone and not a game. Free to play games offer much better content. Well I wrote this review back in Nov 2016 and I have to say sadly at first glance the game has not changed. It is still an empty world where you start with an ice axe that is weird looking for an axe. Funny you chop down a tree and it falls on you......Yeah 2 years and that is the thing that is backwards. Clearly this dev is trying but it is not something I feel is a quality game. If you have a low end PC and most tittles do not work for you....this game would be good for you. I can not imagine that it requires much for resourceOkay I have give this game every opportunity and then some. I have few hours on the game because it looks like crap. Even plays like crap. I have a i7 CPU and a 980Ti GPU with no issues running the game. The issue is that the game looks like it should be about 5yrs old. The world is very empty what tree there are look so fake. To top it off today I gave it a try chopped down a tree and it fell right on me but I never moved!! The game does not rate a long review so I will end it there. Many other games out there in this genre that are much much better.. This is an amazing game but when ever me and my friend make something industrial e.g. the industrial furnace and then log off and come back on the day after it has dissapeared. note that we did save the game before we logged off of the gameUPDATE This is now fixed and I am only waiting for steam multiplayer. I love everything about this game, except for the way you have to go about playing on multiplayer, hopefully by the time it reaches beta they will have dedicated servers cause this Hamachi / Server hosting nonsense is NOT multiplayer, its me hosting my own server to play a LAN Multiplayer game ONLINE! A new version is available! (Beta 31.01.2019): In this update, mobs were returned to the game. Fully redone water and underwater effects. From the wheels of transport now dust flies. Added mechanism for disassembling unnecessary craft. Fixed a bug in which the flight into space was not smooth enough. Now periodically debris falls from space, from which you can get useful parts for crafting. Now the NPC medic can trade, and in case of death, he is resurrected if there is a medical capsule at the base. Slightly improved graphics. Also made many minor fixes.. A new version is available! (Alpha 24.07.2017): Ragdoll now works correctly, the effect of rain has been improved. Preparation for construction in space has been completed, it will be available in the next update.
